A store dedicated solely to Tasmanian products has been launched on e-commerce shopping giant Amazon.com.au.

The store so far features products from five well-known Tasmanian brands: McHenry's Distillery, Tasman Sea Salt, Hartshorn Distiller, Coaldale Walnuts and The Tasmanian Tonic Company.

The state's Trade Minister Jeremy Rockliff said other brands would join the store throughout the project.

"By making our quality Tasmanian products available on Amazon Australia, our producers can sell directly to consumers across the country," he said.

"The dedicated Tasmanian Brand Store gives customers an enhanced shopping experience and more information about the brands and locals behind the products."

The online store features this preamble:

"We protect what makes this place different. We draw on our island spirit and culture of invention and enterprise.

"As a result, everything we grow and make here is our point of difference."

The store was created through a collaboration between the government and Podean Marketplace Marketing.

There were 38.7 million visits to Amazon.com.au last month.
