New maps of emerging mountain bike trials at Nitmiluk National Park are being developed to coincide with maps already in existence across the Top End.
A new map is already available to mountain bikers navigating the shared-use trails at Charles Darwin National Park and Casuarina Coastal Reserve, as part of a million dollar government investment.
"Mountain biking is growing in popularity both as a pastime enjoyed by locals and as a reason for tourists to visit a destination," deputy CEO of Tourism Andrew Hopper said.
"The NT Government is investing in the sport to improve the liveability of the Territory and attract more tourists, which will create jobs."

A Central Australia map will be developed to cover the East and West Alice Springs trails and further maps will be developed to cover new mountain bike and shared-use trails planned for Litchfield National Park.
Mr Hopper said the trails have been developed with help from the Darwin Off-Road Cyclists group,
"This new map will help spread the word about our excellent mountain bike trail network, and help people riding the trails have the best experience possible.
"Research shows mountain bikers tend to be high-yield guests who often spend more when visiting a destination, which means more money entering the local economy."
Darwin Off-Road Cyclists vice-president Keogh Conboy said he agrees the new maps will create a buzz across the Territory.
"Our riders love the design of the new trail map, and the fact all the trails are now named. This will make it easier to show those new to the area where to go.
"Local and visiting riders are very happy with the upgrades and new trails, which have been built upon what the local mountain bike scene started.
"We are a growing sport/recreational activity and it's been great to have the NT Government acknowledge this by investing in not just infrastructure, but the trail maps and trails guides as well."
